Ingrowing Toenails

Ingrowing toenails occur when a splinter of nail pierces the skin at the side of the nail. The area becomes swollen and painful. Pus is often present, and in persistent cases proud flesh develops.

Painful toenails also occur when there is an increase in the pressure between the side of the nail and the toe.

Professional treatment, to treat the symptoms and where appropriate, the underlying causes provides the best long-term outcomes.
